Ajmal Ahmady
Mr. Ajmal Ahmady is Acting Minister of Industry and Commerce, the Senior Economic Advisor to H.E President Ashraf Ghani, and a TAPI board member. He was born in a religious family in Ghazni Province of Afghanistan. Mr. Ahmadi finished his elementary and secondary studies in Afghanistan and higher education abroad. He has undergraduate degree of Mathematics and Economics from UCLA and MBA from Harvard Business School, Master of Economics and Public Administration from the Harvard Kennedy School. He previously spent eight years in the asset management industry investing in global macro emerging markets, and corporate strategies for some of the largest asset managers in the world. Furthermore, he worked for Booz Allen Hamilton, World Bank, EM private equity group, the US Treasury Department and the Afghan Ministry of Finance. After the establishment of the National Unity Government, he worked as the senior economic adviser for the President for four years, and on February 6, 2019, he was appointed as the acting minister of Ministry of Industry and Commerce of Afghanistan.
